Introduced in V4.1, Dynamic Refresh works automatically when using a Replicator Engine or the Apply Engines and it does it concurrently with CDC processing, enabling both initial load and target refresh. The Dynamic Refresh generates a series of Inserts that will replace the original target content. Generally when a relational target is to be refreshed in this manner a separate procedure would be followed to drop the target table(s) content. The procedure should include where practical making a backup of that content prior to its replacement. Kafka targets do not require the elimination of existing topic history but consideration should be given to the impact of downstream consumers.
