The PURGE process command is used to force a stop (purge) a specific process subtask. This command should only be used to force a process down that is not responding to the TERMINATE command.

 

Syntax:

P  # | name    Where # is the process number or name is the process name to be stopped. Engine numbers are assigned by the Master Controller during startup based on the position of the engine specifications within the startup parameter.

Example:

Force a stop of engine subtask ENGINE2 from the operator’s console and then display the status of the engine subtasks using the DISPLAY command. Assume that the name of the Master Controller job is SQDAMAST.
