The prerequisites refer to the hardware and software required in order to install Connect CDC SQData for z/OS.
Hardware (Processors)
•General Purpose and zIIP (recommended for LogStream I/O and optional NaCL encryption)
Hardware (Disk) (based on 3390 tracks)
•Installation Terse Files - 1450 tracks or 50 MB (these can be deleted after installation)
•Typical Installation - 7850 tracks or 450 MB (assumes PGMOBJ is retained, and modules are linked to a separate load library)
•Optional Captures (Db2, IMS, VSAM) USS file system under 1 MB for configuration files
•Db2 Capture Transient Storage - Additional USS file system - 2 to 4 GB
Software
All Software vendors use the term "end-of-life" to describe the point beyond which an aging product is no longer supported. There are often two dates, a base and an extended End of Support date. Confirm that your installed software is supported. Precisely Connect CDC SQData will support operating systems and datastores supported by their respective vendors. See Release Notes for details on our Support lifecycle.
Operating System
•z/OS Version 2 Release 1 (V2R1) or higher
•Language Environment (LE) compatible with z/OS version
Optional Software
In addition to the Operating System, your implementation of Connect CDC SQData will determine other software prerequisites. For example, the Connect CDC SQData near real-time and/or asynchronous data capture components require the following:
•IMS version 10 or higher
•Db2 version 11 or higher (Db2 data capture)
a.Db2 12 utilizes a 10 Byte Log Sequence Number (LSN). See the Db2 Capture Reference section Upgrading Db2 to 10 Byte LSN for the steps to be performed at the time the LSN length is changed
b.Db2 Dynamic Refresh functionality in Connect CDC SQData 4.1 requires Db2 V12 R1 M500 in order to support processing "slices" of the source table based on row count or From and to Key values. See Dynamic Capture Based Refresh.
•CICS version 5.1 or higher (CICS/VSAM data capture)
•IBM MQ Apply Engines only, writing to IBM MQ Targets (IBM MQ deprecated from Capture)
