The client-side Oracle Wallet may be used for external authentication by the Capture Agent. See the Oracle documentation at https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14266/cnctslsh.htm#g1033548 for instructions on setting up this secure password store.

Configuration of the capture agent to use external authentication requires only leaving out the --password parameter in it's Capture CAB configuration file. Other methods for obscuring the Oracle password required by the Capture Agent are described in the section Create Oracle Capture CAB file.

 

Note, the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora must be configured to specify the Oracle Wallet location.
